going on bladeforums at work? I try not to, but i figure if i eat lunch at my desk it's ok because i'm not getting paid for it anyway. it's kinda hard to resist it sitting at a computer all day. :(

I only feel bad about surfing at lunch if I get mustard on the keyboard ;)

Razor,

A diplomatic answer as ever - have you ever thought about discussing politics someplace?

ps what's work?

Cool thread. I do feel guilty sometimes because I am on BF about the whole day at work (its been slow here lately). I enjoy it so much, I feel as if I am hooked :D

Since I make my living on the telephone, there's a lot of down time while I'm on hold, waiting for the call to go through, etc. I keep BF on my screen and scan things while I'm waiting. Occasionally I'll find an irresistable thread and read it through before making the next call, but it's pretty rare. I post replies in the same manner (it's taken me 15 minutes to get this far in this reply). This way I can indulge my interest without significantly affecting my work. No guilt.

I'm considering it.

I feel as guilty about being on bf.c at work as my employers feel about me being here until midnight many nights, pulling 14 hour shifts, and working weekend evenings ;)

All without additional compensation I might add...

I mean, i love it, so it's not really a bad addiction, but it feels kinda like cigarettes, it'd be nice to know i could stop if i wanted to. (I can quit anytime, i swear!;) )

Yeah, ain't being salaried great?!?!

They instituted a company-wide 10% pay cut. For us, that means the hourly people work 10% fewer hours (every other Friday off -- unpaid). The salaried people just make 10% less (gross) _and_ pick up the 10% additional work.

brief forays into entertainment mode are crucial to increased productivity, so that the brain can return refreshed to creatively confront work-tasks. Read as: I'm salaried too.

I'm actually glad to not even have this problem to consider.

I have no internet access at work and that's probably a good thing.
