Does anyone else notice that their sheaths dull their knives?

I dont know why, but my SRK grows dull rather quickly after just removing it from its sheath repeatedly if the edge touches the inside of the sheath when removing. And no, Im not making a concerted effort to drag the entire edge along the inside of the sheath, but neither am I making an effort to avoid doing so. I just pull it out as "normally" as I can, but the edge becomes dull. Is the conceal-ex abrasive? Maybe theres grit in there? But Ive washed it out repeatedly with hot soapy water so...

Secure-ex is glass reinforced nylon, and yes, it's abrasive. Certain other knives have this problem as well(the Kobun is notorious for this), but Cold Steel never acknowledges it as a real problem no matter how many people say otherwise, so really, all you can do is resharpen regularly, get a custom kydex or leather sheath made, or try your best to keep the edge from touching the sheath when you draw it.

As D says, it's a well known, though not officially acknowledged, issue. Some models are really bad, like the infamous Kobun D mentioned (great knife, not so great sheath). Other knives seem to be fine. My Shanghai Shadow and both sizes of PeaceKeeper (all double edged), for example, have zero issues with this. I think it's just a matter of how the edges interact (or don't) with the inside of the sheath. It seems to be more an issue with single edged blades for some reason. I'm a strong proponent of CS going back to their nice old-school Cordura sheaths for their fixed blades.

Does kydex do this too? If not I think they should switch, even if it costs a tad bit more. I would gladly pay
It kinda rediculous that you can dull your knife without even using it, and yet the company doesnt even acknowledge a problem as big as this.....:thumbdn:

I doubt that it would NEVER have contact with the edge.... How is that possible? But regardless, I was referring to whether the material I'm kydex was as abrasive as the GRN in cs shearhs

Zytel and other glass reinforced nylon will be much more abrasive to an edge then kydex. And no the very edge cant touch the kydex unless made with a sidewall along the edge. As long as its riveted/attached in the same fashion as sewing a leather sheath then the edge has nothing to touch. All it can do is act like a wedge.
