I've been thinking about getting one of those Kershaw 2535 Ultra-Tek Sharpeners to carry around with me so I'll be able to keep my Kershaw EDC's razor-sharp at all times.

How well do they work?

Now, I just have to dig up some money, or something to trade someone for one...:D.

Trade? Hey, I've been looking for a JYD II! Heard you liked imports and Tim Britton kits now anyway (or something like that) . :)

So, no-one owns a Kershaw Ultra-Tek Sharpener? It looks like if I ever buy one, I'll be the first person to own one.:D.

The guy I buy some of my knives from has one... He said its better than a Sharpmaker... I'm buy a Sharpmaker tonight so yeah... It looks good though... Whoah... I'm using a lot of ...'s...

Dann, get one and give us a review! I'm sure it would be easier camping with the Ultra-Tek than carrying the Sharpmaker...

Perhaps you could ask Thomas to loan you one for review?

Please don't encourage Dann to do anything with knifes , especially sharpening them. It's worse than feeding the bears !!! He is predestined to cut himself !

That's true, but:
1. The sight of (my own) blood doesn't bother me.
2. I'm a very well-trained EMT-A/Medic.
3. I have a GOOD supply of bandaids, gauze, and duct-tape.:D.

With this big roll of duct-tape I have, I don't need the superglue...That duct-tape goes along way, and works pretty well...(However, it might be alittle tough to remove.:D.:D.).

Well, it looks like I won't be buying one of those Kershaw Ultra-Tek Sharpeners anytime soon, as my wife's car went haywire, so all my money is going into getting it running again.:grumpy:..:grumpy:.

Well, I went and put one of my Kershaw folders up for trade for a BRAND-NEW Ultra-Tek Sharpener, so if someone gives me a trade, I'll be doing a review of this sharpener shortly..

Well, I've had a trade-offer up in the Exchange forum for a week now, looking for a Kershaw Ultra-Tek sharpener, with NO offers, so it looks like I won't be finding out how well those sharpeners work.:(.

Oh, well...I still have my Spyderco 204 Sharpmaker, eventho it's not one that I can carry with me in my pocket, along with my pair of Cyclones.:D.

600 grit seems coarse for "razor sharp" touch ups.
What am I missing here?
I like the extra fine ezelap mini-paddles (1200 grit) and their diamond card sharpener. DMT also makes mini paddles and an extra fine/fine reversible sharpener that I just got from Tarrant's on special.
