I just bought the northfield 99 wallstreet in autumn bone....I really like the looks of it.....and from what ive heard..the northfield will be awesome ff......

just wondering if anyone else has this knife...and what u think of it

Love the knife and in fact I have 3 all with the spearpoint blade. Not too big but big enough for most jobs.

Enjoy!

Mark

I have two with wharncliffe blades, gabon ebony and green bone, really like them both.

I have a Northfield Wallstreet Wharncliffe Autumn Bone and actually like it better than I thought I would having mixed feelings about the 99 Farm & Field lockback. I've had 4 of the F&F 99's and 2 have had vertical blade play which annoys me but they are excellent beater knives. My Wallstreet not only looks amazing with the Autumn Bone and Northfield treatment but also has a better functioning lock.

I have a Stag set of all three blades. I think they are great!

I have an ebony clip point and I like it a lot. Beautiful and well functioning knife. Mine does have a very slight amount of vertical play, but it doesn't bother me at all.

I have the spear in Autumn bone and love it! It almost one hand operational.

This might give you an idea of what I think.....;)

Over the moon about this one, the stag is just what I sought and the quality of construction/execution beyond reproach. No gaps, absolutely no hint of blade-play, smooth lock-up. I fancy a Wharncliffe now but funds at this time of year are well tight:eek:

I was hoping to hear some good feedback....I fell in love with the looks of the knife...I actually like the autumn bone better than the stag

and one other question...why do some shields say unxld...and others like the autumn bone not say that?....is there a reason?

Don't actually know..but I think it's just that some Northfield knives that come in Smooth Bone or Woods sport the 'cloud' shield whereas the rest have the un-X-ld type. All carry the blade etch.

Because of the way the knives are finish buffed, smooth handle materials require a smooth Inlay Shield. Textured handle materials can have a textured Inlay Shield. A textured Inlay Shield on a knife with smooth handle covers would lose it's texture during final buffing and polishing.

That makes perfect sense and is good to know. The cloud shields are my favorite.

I have an autumn bone spearpoint. Love the knife. As mentioned, mine locks up drum tight, is smooth, excellent build quality and is quite attractive. What's not to like?

good info guys....yeah I like the cloud shield the best....just something about a plain shield with no name in it I like

I don´t have Northfield #99 but a Tidioute #99 and I really like it. It makes an awesome carry. I was a little about the squared but about its carry in pocket, but that no deal breaker at all. The F&F is reallly great on these ones - blade centered and no blade play or whatsoever...

Antique Green Bone do we have here.

That is EXACTLY! the kind of stag that gets to me! Nice one Will.

That really is a fantastic looking knife. I generally don't like stag partly because it's usually really fat. You definitely scored with that one.

Good to hear all of the position feed back as the autumn gold spear point is on my short list of next knives to buy.

I just got one in Autumn Bone with a spear point and the fit and finish is spot on.
It is a good bit slimmer than the Farm and Field 99, this makes the Wall Street a bit of a nicer carry.
Both of mine have very slight up and down play but they lock up great and that does nothing to detract from the function of the knife.

This is another excellent pattern from GEC and I hope they continue to do different variations with this knife.
