I need Art's e-mail address so I can corresponde with him about the Foxy Folly I got that has bad hardening?

Wado Mark!!!! I did a search on Art, haredning, forgeing and heat treating and came up with nothing.
But no sooner had I posted that than I got an e-mail from Art himself so I'm good to go now.:D Wado everyone!!!!

I have to ask because I have no idea, but what in the world does "Wado" mean? I saw it on a couple of your old post while searching and reading and was wondering. In the context that it is used it appears to mean thanks or good job or something like that. Sorry if this is a dumb question. Thanks

Mark you have it right. Wado is Thanks in Tsalagi or Cherokee as you're probably used to seeing it.
Another one you might see is, "Wado Equa" which is, "Thanks Great Big" in Tsalagi.:D

Hi Yvsa,

ever consider possibly a sword smith? i wonder if Howard Clark could differentially heat treat that bad boy..

I think that a bainite Khurk of any kind would be beyond belief. I wish that you would not have said that. I do want to sleep after all. I think that the thought of that will keep me up all nite!

an L6 khukuri.

now there is a thought. whew. you know a khukuri with a hamon is an interesting idea.

with his forging skills, that khuk would unspeakably good.

i'm betting that he'd make a mokume bolster. why? because he can.

awww boy!

here's a taste of what happens when you inspire a mastersword smith with a khukuri!

hard to see in the first pic, but that baby is pattern welded.

I tell myself it's enough to know such things exist.

I lie to myself all the time, too!

OK Dave,

Even though I'm sure that the pictured khuk would cost my lunch money for several years, and that the chances of me handling yet alone owning such a piece are as remote as a 30-year younger clone of Dianna Riggs asking me out on a date, I still have to ask for more information.

Bill Bagwell appreciates khukuris. I have a Helle's Belle on order. I wonder if he'd forge a khukuri...

around 600 U.S

but like any custom maker in demand, it's a 2 year waiting list and probably a 1 year make.

Art does excellent work and guarantees it.

Art and I have an arrangement which allows him to do all HI work free of charge to the customer.

Art is good, enjoys what he does, gets it done in a timely fashion so if you have any tweaking (or major repair for that matter) of an HI product that needs done send it to Art.

Thanks, Uncle Bill.

The fashion is not quite as timely now that I'm going to the local Community College as a full time student.

I do enjoy the khukuri work and will get it done as quickly as school work allows.

Linda has assured me I'll be sorry if the school work slips. Terror is a good inducement! Uncle Bill and Raghorn have met Linda, so they understand why I cower in fear just thinking about what could happen.

I apologize to those forumites who have to be a little more patient, but will continue to do my best and will always guarantee the work.

Good food takes time to prepare, as well as Khukuris.

THAT'S ALL ANYONE SHOULD EVER ASK.

In my case the time isn't a problem as I Have to have an Eagle Fan, two Gourd Dance Rattlers, and a Bandolier and Sash done by December 15th in order to bring a brother and nephew into the Arena!!!!
So I'm gonna be really busy myself for the next little while.
I just pray that I'm able to dance with them at least a couple of rounds. And hopefully the rounds won't be ten songs long!!!!!!!
I will take what little time it takes to take a kukri apart so I can get it off to Art.
I know Art does good work from all the kudoes he has got from everyone that he has repaired a kukri for.:D
