Does anyone have one of these Schrades in their collection?

This must be one of the hardest Schrade items to find, for your collection.

I have Schrade Lands End dress shirts. Do you? And a Schrade thermos. And Schrade Christmas tree ornaments. And hats. And tee shirts. But no box like that.

These wooden boxes were made for a knife distributor in Australia.
They were shipped from Schrade, empty. They must have been for an Old Timer promotion.

They look very similar to boxes that were raffled off at Duck Unlimited dinners back in the 80's. Called Duck Packs. Had various duck hunting related items in them. I believe I have even seen them with Winchester and Remington graphics printed on them.

They were sold through distributors in the states as well, I think I've even seen one in the back of a catalog or two but I don't recall which one. Definitely don't see many, nice snag!!

Ok, now I need to find one of these or have one made. I would totally love to have one to put all of my Schrade Knives in. Does it have a shelf inside KoldGold?

This box I have been told, was made for a large Schrade retailer in Australia.
My box is the only one I have seen, that is still in its' original cardbord box - all the other 3 I have seen are being used.
When I opened my box it had a slip of paper inside, saying "Schrade tools."
No shelf inside. Ken

1991 Flyer. I'll see if I can dig up a little more info on the box

Thank you for any help Irv, these boxes were sent to Australia EMPTY. When I got this one, the shipping box was still un-opened.
They must have cost quite a bit of cash to ship them. Ken

Metal corner strips give this one nice look.

Can almost imagine it under a Christmas tree full of "sharp idea" goodies.
The box in the flyer looks like it is made of Ply Wood, with the corner strips.
My box is made from sturdy 1/2" thick wood, with dove-tail ends and it has the same wording scorched into the wood.

koldgold, I am in awe of the thoroughness of your Schrade Collection.:hypnotysed:

somewhere in the factory there was the brand that made those scorch marks. wouldn't that have made a nice purchase at end of days.

I wasn't in anyway disparaging your box. Sorry if it came off that way. I was just commenting on the aesthetics of the one in the picture.

The boxes were promotional items offered to dealers who purchased a set number of knives. There were two or three different versions, of which the one in Larry's photo (1991+ version) and Ken's version (not sure of the years on that one) are two of them. Here's some info that accompanied the one in Larry's photo in the 2nd Half 1991 Schrade binder, it was in addition to a vacation offer to dealers who purchased $2500 worth of knives:
