Does anyone have the scoop on Photopoint?

Hi Speedrck,

A friend on Jeff Randalls Outdoor Forums replied to my question about Photopoint:

"Check the site www.****edcompany.com then search for photopoint. There should be some editorial there. I thought I heard rumors of them going belly up."

Well I checked and it sure looks like they are "gone with the wind", I also had about 12 MB of pictures up and over 15000 solid hits on them :(.

Pooper Scooper!

PP seems to have suddenly gone POOF.

They were sure sending a lot of emails trying to drum up xmas business shortly before the disappearing act. I guess they are yet another victim of the internet. Just another web site with a great concept, high overhead costs, and an inability to turn their popularity into real $$$

Just be thankful we still have THIS site :)

Para, photopointless

THanks Guys for the info . I sure hope they get it together because I have about 800 photos stored there.
Ray;)

Anyone come up with a new photo host that works like Photopoint? OPHOTO and the rest seem to only let us link to albums... Anyone found something like Photopoint that let's us link to a single photo in an album???

Thanks,
Michael

Time for real webhosting. The free sites are failing, or putting a lot of ads or hotlinking restrictions on the sites.

Domain names and webhosting are cheap, and you get control over your site and no advertisements. (should always back up your stuff, though)
