Does anyone here do carbidizing?

So ... I'm one of the lucky ones that got a Strider PT withOUT play, but it was sticky as hell. So, I stropped the lockbar. Mistake... Now I have play. I realize that this is MOSTLY my fault, but if stropping for about 45 seconds total made my knife develop play, something was wrong.

I'm looking for someone who does carbidizing. Preferably someone with a bit of experience. I feel like this would work over some of my play issues and smooth the lock face. I'll pay shipping both ways, but I can't pay much, if anything, for the carbidizing itself. Any takers?

Contact Strider and you may be surprised to find that they will take care of it. My guess is that the first thing they will try is carbidizing. If they don't want to fix it then, and only then, PM me and I'll take care of it.

Varga, I dismantled the knife. I've heard that Strider doesn't like that and I've also heard they have terrible customer service and will barely answer calls/emails. I've ALSO heard all they will do is cap the Ti side stop pin to bring out the play. This is barely any play.

Chuck, My lock up is already pretty deep (80%) and I'd really prefer to not shove it in any deeper. If the angle was maintained, just raised a bit, I feel it would be perfect. It has barely any play at all, not the kind of "hold the knife and shake it" play you get on some striders.

If you go to The Exchange and look in the "Services Offered" you will find people who do what you want.

I am moving this thread to "Maintenance Tinkering and Embellishment", as it is a better fit there.
