I believe the Kershaw # is 1625......I have been looking at this knife for some time now.....I have found a few places that have them.....I love the way it looks and I know there were only 250 made.......I have actually found one for sale that is marked # 21.
I was hoping for some opinions on this fine specimen.

Anyone???

Thanks SPX......I found that thread when I googled the Whisper.
I talked to a guy at a knife shop in my Mall.......told him about the Whisper, he had no clue, but it sure sparked his interest once I showed him a picture on the web.
Matter of fact, he may be posting here now..... not sure.

I've been curious about the Whisper myself. Wondering about that vault lock, looks interesting.

I have one on my desk, never used it, only cycled it about 3000 times. Very smooth.

It was a pia to make. It's the only AO done up in Japan. The blade finish is awesome. We will never do another vault lock. Blade to handle is a little off, but a sweet knife none the less. One of the rarer modern day Kershaw's for sure.

Lot's to like, that's for sure.

Thomas........ do all the # 1 knives get sent out for sale or do various people on the inside get first pick??

What # Whisper do you have??

I am willing to wager that it is.

I wonder if Kershaw has any need for an Agronomist? Maybe I'll check out their help wanteds. I need to get into that mythical "inside" so I too can get whatever I want.

what made it such a pia? why is the vault lock so special?

Thomas, does that mean I can come see you, and as long as I'm "inside" I can get my hands on a prototype? I remember what you did to Dave when he was there...not very nice! We all saw the pic! I'm 6'6" and 255, and I know you're a big guy. Well, I may be old, but I'm, uh, mmmm, ahh, slow too! :D

ahhhh but it is my youth, size, and technical jargon that will help ME win the day ;)

I have a part serrated Whisper #23 out of 250.I guess they made 250 pe and 250 ps.I sent it to Kershaw twice cause the AO (speedsafe)is not as fast as the other models that have Kershaw AO's.Each time Kershaw sent it back the same way.Maybe the AO ca'nt be as fast because of the Vault lock? Thomas is right about the handle to blade ratio as you can see in the picture by offsetlover. Its a shame they wo'nt make another Vault lock, their pretty neet.
