First off, my name is Emmanuel and this is my first post, hello everyone! I was given this knife and I think it's cool because it is a switch blade, but there has to be some history to it. I searched and found similar knifes with presto brand and saw they are pretty desirable but never saw a pic of this one. It only has 1 blade, it pulls out strong. I believe the handle is made of bone? It is 9 inches long with the blade out. Any more info would be nice. How much do these usually sale for? It has normal wear and tear. Here is the pic. Thanks in advance!

You might be better off in the Traditional forum with that kind of knife. That or BL's forum.

Try the auto forum or Bernard Levine's forum. The Presto brand dates back a long ways. If that piece is in as good a shape as it looks like, it would fetch a couple hundred bucks easily. Nice one, and welcome!

In WWII, paratroopers were issued the Schrade M2 single-blade "Presto" Switchblade pocket knife starting in 1941.

Early ones had jigged bone handle scales, and later ones had black imitation bone scales with no laynard ring.

They later added a lanyard ring attached to either the front or rear rivet, and came packaged with a "thong" for attaching to the ring & web gear.

These were very high quality knives, and nowhere near the crappy quality of the later MC-1 switchblade with the orange handle & line cutter hook.
