Off Topic Does anyone know a good place to buy gems especially a garnet

I'm trying to make a anniversary present for my wife. She likes rustic stuff so I have a tiny chance of making something that she will like it.
I know some if you guys have worked with gems before. If there was a way to find a rough polished stone it might be better than cut.
Ant advise welcome.
