Does anyone know a good re-handler / re-scaler?

Hey guys,

I'm new here. I like knife centric forums a bit more than general purpose. I like to post at British blades and bushcraftusa , but bcusa doesn't focus on knives and British blades is great but the whole overseas issue does come in to play quite a bit when trying to do business.

I hope to post here for a long time and build a good rep, and I'm thinking maybe if I have a couple of quick transactions with some known members perhaps that can build up some trust.

Back to the point, I know I'll get hell for this but oh well.. I have two questions:

1. I own and really enjoy the BG Gerber parang (I know I know) but the design of the parang is ideal for me, I like its look and function quite a bit but I hate the handle. The take of the parang is similar to a style that ray mears uses in the jungles.

2. I have about 4 Gerber big rock knives that I enjoy using as beaters , I do think that these are great value for the price and function. We all have our nicer stuff, but these I like to punish and I don't feel bad if one breaks.

I'm looking for someone who does re-handling or re-scaling work that is affordable. I live in the states, so for a job on a budget like this I can't use British blades for due to the shipping cost and customs issues. I would love to talk about handling options with someone and check out there work.

I do apologize about the long post, but felt the need to explain myself a little. I would be very appreciative if anyone could suggest someone who might be ideal for this work so I can get a quote. I can already tell I'm going to love this forum and hopefully I can be here for a long time and befriend some of you.

Oh and by the way,

I didn't see a category for introductions otherwise I would have introduced myself first :)

Thanks again for any help on this, I really would be grateful, truly. I've been lurking for a while and tonight I decided to pull the trigger ;)

cuscadi scales. they're about 100 usd normally, shipped, and they are fantastic. I have them on my mini ritter and love them.

what type of budget are you working with?

p.s. custom scales are probably going to cost more than the BG Gerber parang did.

Welcome to Bladeforums! It's good to see (even) more well spoken individuals here!

I found a place online that seems to do good work. I have not tried them, but I am very tempted. I will try and find a link.

EDIT:
here's a link

EDIT:

On second thought, I don't know if they're a bladeforums contributor. So I should not link them.

The place is called sunrise river custom knives.

I know Nathan the Machinist does it on production for knife makers. He may do it for it for the individual but not too sure
