Hello all, I'm still trying to find out something about this 500, it came from an ex-employee. Does anyone know who made the handels. All I know is the employee said that it wasn't cost effective, so they stopped production. This knife belongs to my son and daughter.

Thanks for your help.

Armond, if it was a 'Buck' employee it could be infered that Buck did it....Trial?? It almost looks like wood inlays...or is it paint? Stone? Send a e;mail to Joe... All this odd/rare Buck stuff you pick up.............

These handles show up on a number of models in various configurations pretty regularly on the bay. I can't remember for sure, but Sante Fe Knifeworks sticks in my mind as the handle modifier.

She said it was done by laser... But by who she didn't remember... ... I have have a 110 too... I'm trying to get a hold of her to try and get more imfo on them... I've never seen any on the bay yet... But I'm sure there on there.... I will be looking for them now... Does anyone else have one or any pics of theres....

Thanks everyone,
Armand

The 500 in question is one of several samples of various model numbers that were made. I don't know who did the work but it is definitely a wood inlay process. Nice knife!

Thanks Richard, for the imfo... I'm trying to buy the knife from my son and daughter... But they don't want to sell it... I wouldn't sell it...

The work is by Santa Fe for sure. I have a little Schrade that you would mistake for a 503 and it has a marketry handle just like these. Mine is a wolf but I have seen fish and eagles and Hopi dancers as well. These days they seem to be all about the Kershaw but we can get past that. Nice knife by the way.
