Does anyone know how Muela attached their baldes to the handle on the MK12?

I am looking at the Muela MK12 for a general purpose hunting/small camp knife. Not expensive at all, but I was interested in knowing how they attach their blades to their handles? The handles appear to be aluminum?

I can't say but I own several Muelas and they are top notch in quality. I've always thought they were under priced for what you get. Just my 2 cents.

I don't know for sure, but I imagine the process would be similar to whatever Gerber does with their Mark 1 / Mark 2 daggers with the aluminium handles - using a very short rat-tail tang, but I really have no idea past that.

A short tang could be either epoxied into the handle or the handle could be cold forged onto the tang.

cant you just email them and ask them?? dont they have a web site?? if they do then they should have a contack phone number on it or a email address on it so you can ask them questions about there knife. very good question by the way.

I phoned Muela, confirming a short tang of just over 1 inch (exactly 27 mm.).
