Does anyone know the micron of the CBN Rods from Spyderco?

The knifecenter listing for Spyderco's CBN rods has them at about 40 microns (see quoted text below, taken from page at link below).

"Features

CBN grit size is about 40 microns
CBN abrasive is significantly coarser than the medium ceramic stones
CBN rods should be used with VERY LIGHT pressure. Recommended use of less than 5 grams (there are 28 grams in an ounce) and excessive pressure may shear the abrasive off the base layer that binds it to the rod.
Recommended misting the rods with water before use to reduce metal dust and slow the abrasive process
The rods are ideal for reprofiling the bevel angle of a knife or rebeveling chipped or nicked blades
Because the abrasive is coarse, users should expect a bit of work with the medium stones afterward if they want to smooth the bevels to the finer grit"

Can some one tell me if there is any real difference (i.e. In the scratch pattern) between the CBN rods and the Diamond Rods for the sharp maker? Or if there would be any reason to own both.

40 micron is about 320 grit for comparison. From the description and instruction in the link above they seem to be pretty fragile. Seems to be a more about getting in on the current CBN craze than anything else. Looking forward to anyone's comments on them.

I read a post somewhere that the diamond rods are about P360, which according to the unified grit chart is 41 micron, so just about the same as the CBN rods. Perhaps someone who has both could answer.

See Diamond vs CBN rods grit - Spyderco Forums and CBN Rods - Spyderco Forums

So the spyderco sharpmaker cbn SP204CBN rods/stones are about same grit as diamonds, 400 mesh , or 40 microns or P360 or J400

Apparently CBN rods aren't any harder to damage than diamonds , just use them dry with high force :)

see CBN Rods - Page 7 - Spyderco Forums
Diamond rods inferior to CBN rods? - Spyderco Forums

update: a quote light force, 1/2 lbs but small contact area meant the pressure was high 10-20 psi this translates to 226.8 grams, this is on the flats not the corners of triangles

I've got the CBN rods, they cut pretty good, not sure about the durability or fragilness compared to the Diamond rods, I've only used them a few time, but I'm very happy with them. They're at least twice as aggressive as the medium ceramic rods!
