Attached photos of 4 blade Schrade Cut Co with Mother of Pearl handle. It features an unusual warncliff blade and I have looked through Catalog E and Supplements and also Sargents 2nd Edition and cannot locate similar knife.
With its fancy backspring it may have been a special factory order? There is no pattern number on tang.
I believe it may be reasonably old? Any info appreciated.

Larry,

Can't help out on the pattern but I have to say it is one beautiful knife. Love the MOPs.

I don't see the exact knife, but I suspect the pattern would be a 9706T.
Does the size match the 9703B (9706B)? Catalog No. 40.

Added info; Actually, if the size is right, there is a 9706T listed on page 73 of the Catalog "E" reprint.

Thanks Charlie,How would you have liked to be a Schrade salesperson in those days keeping abreast of your stock inventory?
This Senator is closed length 2 7/8".
It would appear to be the 9706T described but not shown on page 73 Catalog 'E'.
Interesting they call the warncliff blade a 'surgical lance blade'.
The 9706B shown above had me confused because of the different bolster and it seemed to be a hybrid of 9786T and the 9706B which I guess it is and then produced later as a pattern in its own right as shown in 'Supplementary Pages'.
For anyone interested the official description of this 9706T Senator Mother of Pearl Handle is:4 blades<flexible manicure file, surgical lance blade, spear pocket, and pen blade> nickel silver linings, milled, nickel silver tips, cleaned inside, large blade crocus polished on one side. They were packed 1/2 doz to box as shown above.
The mother of pearl has beautiful debth and fire a photo cant capture.
Thanks again. <good to see your welcome presence... I havnt had anyone to joust with!>

Touche', Larry;)!

So that is the knife! Those catalogs are not the easiest to read for the variations.

Larry, it is a Surgical blade. note the slight downward curve of the edge towards the tip. wharnie is straight.

Some of the later publications also refer to it as a cuticle blade. Great knife Larry, I had my eye on that one as well. Unfortunately, my wife had her eye on me (and not in a good way).

.....my wife opened the parcel and said "that's a handy looking little knife...can I carry it in my purse?".....I slipped her a similar looking MOP 'Sabre' USA to carry and she's happy....you have to be very quick and inventive/ creative in Knife Collecting!!
That Surgical blade is one of the sharpest you could imagine and I would not like to get near a cuticle with it....I believe Roland may be an MD. and I bow to his knowledge on surgical matters...Thanks all. Hoo Roo
