Does anyone know what kami this is? Thanks!

that is the most proficient bhakta if the image is of a drawn bow with arrow notched--- he is a very good kami, was with HI for a good amount of time, I have several blades by this man.

I found an old thread indicating that he is no longer with HI. A shame as this really is one of the nicest I've owned. The fullers are perfect.

yeah exactly, bhakta had very clean lines, his AK bowies are pretty much perfect--- just like you say his fullers are very clean, and consistent across many blades. which is a real mark of skill in my mind, I have some of his early blades too so you can see how much his skill has grown from his first days with HI, sad that he left, but I have to say the new line up of kami is probably the best HI has had since it was started with bura and the other greats.

ruadh definitely try to get yourself a thamar, purna or sher; sher is pretty much the oldest working kami, has been around since first days of HI; purna is a new kami from dharan who shows extreme levels of skill; thamar is a young kami with really classical style -- both purna and thamar tend to make gentler curves in the khuks. bhakta is a great kami though, and hopefully he will end up back with HI, as right now we are still working on bringing back raj kumar, fingers crossed!--- so to say they can always come back around

Bhakkta Kami is still working with HI.

I thought he was still there too because I have very recent pieces by him. Thank you for clearing that up Karda. I think Bhakta's assistant Min has theft though. Bhakta is a solid Kami who puts out laser beam straight fullers. He leaves hardly any visible hammer marks and his polish work is top notch.

My first HI Kukri was a 18 inch 30ounce WWII with horn handle. Bhakta put a very graceful curve into the handle and the spine angle matches perfectly. I always considered him one if the CLEANEST kamis HI has.

Interesting. I just read a thread where Yangdu said that he no longer worked for HI and any models sent out would be old stock.

Good to hear though!

Like everyone else has already stated, the blade is marked by Bhakta, he is still with HI, and he is generally known for his fullers. All of the kamis at HI are currently extraordinarily good. The Kumar brothers, as I like to call them (Kumar, Sher, Yuvraj), and many other Kamis (Lok, Tirtha, Keshar, etc...) are extraordinarily talented, and have been with HI since the beginning. All of the new kamis, Purna, Thamar, Padam, Dhan, are really super talented as well.

Like Gehazi said, hopefully we'll get Rajkumar back, and that will be the Holy Grail when that happens, because I have several of his pieces, and he is soooooo talented, especially with swords :D

To say this is a "special" time for HI, is an understatement.
