So I was mucking around with some paracord today practicing some standard knots and stumbled on a completely new knot that I have never seen before. Does anyone know what the name of this knot is? I don't think I'm the first person to make this up. Looks like it would be good to fasten an object when a standard girth hitch is too slippery.
This would probably work well on an axe or something with weight. Constant tension is needed to keep this knot tight, much like a prusik. It's also very easy to undo which would be handy because really heavy loads tend to lock up knots and make it difficult to undo.
Start with this simple shape somewhere along your line.

Bending the loops over and run your tag ends through one loop each.

The run both tag ends back through the remaining loop and tighten.
