Does anyone know what type of steel is used to make steel wheels??

Hot rolled steel, newer cars use higher tensile steel. When I started in the industry our main wheel for passenger car was 3.0 mm thick 5 years later it went to 2.6 mm doesn’t seem like a lot but it adds up

Car bodies are a relatively mild steel- ductile, not brittle, not hardenable. Steel is a highly recycled material- old cars are shredded, melted down and converted to reinforcing steel bars and structural steel shapes for construction.
