Does anyone know when

Good question, I haven't heard any mention of the next Sage.
 
Maybe the Axis lock? I'm fairly sure that the patent is up on it (I'm no lawyer, so I easily could be wrong) and an Axis lock Spydie would be all kinds of awesome.

That said, I'd also love to see the Sage with a nice button lock. It's a personal favorite and one I definitely appreciate for compact size as well as ease of operation.
 
I doubt we'll ever see the Axis Lock on a Spyderco even if it's in "tribute" to Benchmade's invention.
Button lock seems likely.
 
We have seen a spyderhole and a pocket clip on a Benchmade...

They should return the favor
 
Although the "bolt action" sage was basically an axis lock, right?
 
Button lock would be cool but I think the Shaman would make a better test bed for that.
