First off, I should say that I'm aware of the fact that the date code on the box can be used to determine the production month/year, and that any Advocates produced after Spyderco halted production of the initial version in April of 2017 will be the new ones. I also know that some retailers, like GP Knives, have very helpfully indicated that they're selling a QCI version (constant quality improvement). Unfortunately GP Knives is out of stock.
I called Blade HQ and the few Advocates they had in stock were dated in 2016. I suppose I could keep calling retailers, but I was wondering if anyone had any inside scoops on where to get a new version without much more hassle.
