Does anyone know which knife Ben Affleck has in Reindeer Games?

I just recently (Friday) saw the action movie "Reindeer Games" (which i highly reccomend if you haven't seen it yet, a bit confusing, but good). Ben Affleck found what looked like a "high-tech automatic folding knife" in the toolbox of a pickup truck. This knife was extremely "cool-looking" and appeared to be very sharp. It looked like he only had to press a button to open it, so i think it was an auto. Which knife is this? Does anyone know?

It is a MT Halo II. A discontinued model that MT made back in 1997. The knife had been "customized" in this movie as the handles are polished. It is one of the production Halo II's as the MT oval logo is evident on the blade.

Welcome to the forums, NormalGuy. Microtech fans have their own forum www.microholics.com Lots of knowledge folks to answer your questions and a for sale forum where you might find what you are looking for. Also the Auto forum here has a price guide for MT otf's. You might have to use the search function to find it. Hope this helps.

The MT Halo II goes for about $300 - $350 on the open market for the production ones. They're somewhat hard to find due to them being discontinued. Every now and then you'll find them for sale in the forums. One great OTF.

I thought it was pretty funny that the guy couldn't find a gun in the truck, but found a $400 knife in the tackle box. Hahaha

My thought exactly Kingknives - I would have expected no better than a Gerber Gator.

Yeah, the Halo II's a heck of a fishing knife

. He was doing a heck of a lot of prying with that thing too!

Good Evening.
It is I,
THE GREAT AND POWERFUL VAMPIRE GERBIL

While I haven't seen the movie, I have to assume from its title that the knife used is Gil Hibben's newest Fantasy Blade, THE SANTA CLAW

Thank you. Thank you very much.
I'll be here all year.

Avoiding large hook aimed at neck,
I remain,

I think that in real life he probably would have broken the tip off that nice automatic. Man, he was doing a lot of prying with that thing!

Well, the real world usability of an out the front automatic is questionable. What I liked was the fact that the knife wasn't used in a threatening matter and more like a tool. No matter if it made sense (which it didn't) or not. He should have grabbed a screwdriver or multitool in addition and keep the knife for cutting tasks, like on his restrains.

Cool the idea to turn a Phillips screw with the end of a dart. (Wouldn't work either I guess.)

BTW the movie itself sucked big time.

I dont think the movie sucked. It did have a lot of weird twists and turns, but it wasnt anywhere near as bad as "Eye of the beholder", or "Gone fishing". Those are two of the worst movies EVER!
