Does anyone know why Benchmade Lifesharp service doesn't cover serrations?

I have quit a few Benchmades and the warrenty's all say that Benchmade won't sharpen the serrated part of the blade in their lifesharp service. I don't see why, because plenty of other knife companys like Spyderco cover their serrations. I have a hard time sharpening serrated blades and would probably only use the lifesharp service for this purpose. I just think that for the price they charge for their knives they could at least have a reasonable lifesharp service.

That's why I only buy plainedge if I can help it.

I can probably take a good guess at this. Since serrations are put on the blade with a specialized grinding wheel, if that process was to be repeated, it would probably entail taking quite a bit of metal off the blade and BM may not want to take a leap in that direction.

You are probably better off using something like the 204 Sharpmaker to put a useable edge on the serrated portions of your blades.
