Does anyone make a hidden axis lock

I'm trying to figure how a hidden axis crossbar would work. Some kind of stirrup shaped part would need slots along the top for the crossbar to be pulled back. So you still end up with crud catcher holes that could be clogged up with pocket lint. Maybe an end pull built into the scales with a milled out channel in the scales for a sliding pair of bars to connect the cross bar to the end? That might work but be far less handy. I'm just at a loss how to cover the crossbar and still have it convenient and easy to work.

benchmade used to have a couple push button models that used axis lock internals like the omega springs but with buttons on both sides instead of an axis bar. there was an assisted and an auto model. called the APB for ambidextrous push button. model numbers were 665 and 6800.
