Does anyone make a toothpick that locks?

Looking for a lockback toothpick. Who makes one?

Thanks.

I don't know of any recent runs. But you could probably find a bolster lock on the secondary market. In the 80s or 90s, AG Russell (?) sold a Cattaraugus branded toothpick with a bolster lock that was made in Japan. You can still find them on the secondary market. If you search completed Ebay auctions for "Cattaraugus CM-12", you'll see several examples and see how much they're selling for.

There are also antiques. Robeson made a bolster lock toothpick. Charlie (Cnoyes) has one. And HSB sold one that unlocked by pressing down on the spine of the secondary blade.

I love that they called it the "Saturday Evening Special" while a "Saturday Night Special" became the name for a cheap and small handgun. What was the "Saturday Morning Special"? (Other than eggs, bacon and toast with a side of hashbrowns of course)

I read from this forum that the toothpick was popular with people visiting dance hall's, bars and other such places. The slim blade was usefull for settling disputes.

I just don't think I'd trust a toothpick to settle a dispute.:eek::D

Rough Rider makes a toothpick style knife that locks/unlocks with a depression of the small blade.

The Rezolas or navaja style knives (can't recall which it is) are large, with a toothpick style blade and some lock. I guess they're a bear sized toothpick, but if you're looking for a locking blade in the same style not size, I'd pick one of them.

I'm not aware of any locking toothpick knife but...
More than a navaja (a bit too curved compared to a toothpick), and a resolza (which doesn't lock), I'd get a locking Laguiole.
I always found alot of resemblance between toothpicks and Laguiole knives; maybe it's worth considering the option :)

Fausto Great minds think alike:D I had the Laguiole type knife in my mind's eye when I saw this thread.:thumbup:

Here's a lockback Laguiole in Bark Ram's Horn from Fontenille-Pataud, 10.5 cm closed. Many other handle/finish choices, also in the very handy smaller 9cm size too.
