I have what I think is an old military canvas tent. Laid out its about 10'x8'. Pretty heavy. I think it would be great for making some canvas micarta.

Email me if your interested, I figured I would post this here incase some of you make your own micarta.
 
Tents like that are worth a fair bit of money new.. I'm not sure about used? Not that I want to deter you from donating or anything, just trying to help.
 
Id trade it for a custom ;-) or partial trade.

I'm not sure how to find out what its worth. Are the old canvas tents good for making micarta?
 
Email sent.....as I understand it, the material has to be pretty clean in order to make Micarta out of it...if it's contaminated with oil, greases, dirt, etc.....it may not cooperate with the process.

If someone wants to make (I'm assuming "green" or "Olive-Drab") homemade canvas micarta, then yes. The canvas doesn't really care once it is saturated with the proper resin.

Replied. I don't think its ever been used.
 
If someone picks it up for the micarta stuff and happen to make there own leather sheaths this canvas works great for burnishing. Save a little for that.
 
Man, I'd take it just for use as a tent! Don't cut up a perfectly good tent to make micarta!
