I own a few neckers now (tops ferret & cold steel defender) I really like the reviews on the Rat Izula & was wondering if I could purchase one pre-wrapped with paracord like the one above. I know most are diy'ers, but my lacing skills are very poor. Heck, even in the navy I messed up my knots:D Just didn't know if this was a service someone provided? Thanks!

Yeah I will do it for you, just ship it to me with the cordage and a money order to ship it back.

But seriously it is really, REALLY easy.

Is there a tutorial on it anywhere? I was on their website & the video was removed?

Do a search on the forum or on youtube, or just plain google, there are tons!

ETA: I think you should really learn to do it yourself, because you know how you want it and there is a level of satisfaction that comes with doing it. Besides if you ever want it redone, changed out whatever, are you gonna send it off everytime?

It might be worth learning how just so that if you get it gunked up you can replace the paracord yourself. The standard crisscrossing wrap really is easier than you'd think, or at least it was easier than I thought it would be :D

Ok, I was just scanning you tube & will give it a shot. Thanks for the motivation. The weaves looked pretty intimidating, but I think I can do it.

It's not too bad, I generally rewrap about once a month. Def a skill worth learning. Just remember to wrap with the sheath on!

Wrapping is half the fun. Rewrapping when you see a cooler way is the other half. I'm on wrap 5 or 6 now. Only had the izula for about a month. Good luck

that is a lot of wraps!
i dont have mine wrapped, i like the look and feel of a naked izula. :D

Reason why 1 Izula is not enough is because it gives something to wrap - so go ahead and try it and just have some fun.

I went through about 3 different styles, but it was the finishing of the wrap I wasn't happy with. I didn't want a big knot or loose ends. So this is the finished product. My obsession with perfection, it's a curse!

Nice wrap and finish. I'd be interested to know how you did that. I have mine like that wilth a jumbled knot that I melted to finish it. Not great looking but it has held.

I've been tempted to contact a couple of members (don't know off hand who they were) just to see if they'd wrap mine for me.

Got a pair of needle nose vise grips, locked them on the knife handle and cord but not at the handle end a little below the end of the knife. Then cut the cord about a 1/4 inch from the end of the handle and started melting little by little turning the knife so the molten cord would form nicely. Be careful to make sure you don't cut too close to the end of the handle or there won't be enough to melt. This was my second attempt at this, the first I cut to close with the thought of just squeezing the ends together. Two points on that...one it's freaking molten cord....HOT! second if you let it cool its too late. Save your fingers they will appreciate the patients. Good luck!

Wow, that looks great...I may have to try that.

I've tried tucking the ends down through the inside of the handle under the wrap, but I can never keep things as tight as I want to.
