I've got a Camillus BK5 the current KaBar BK5. The Camillus stock is slightly 0.5" longer length (and maybe slightly thicker stock) and has more weight and "presence" to it. It can chop. With the Camillus stock grivory handles, it feels "blocky" in my medium hands.
The Kabar BK5 definitely feels more "kitchen knife" like - lighter, faster, slimmer handles but I noticed it did not chop as well as my Camillus version (for me.)
SO... I put some new Kabar Micarta scales on my Camillus BK5 and it rocks!!! No more "blocky" problem, though the kydex retention on the sheath opening is now loose. (easy fix) I'm a happy camper!
Does anyone else like the Camillus version better?
