It is the big folder on the right.

I bought it around 1987.

Out of nostagia I just bought a NIB Al Mar Elite 6105.

If anyone rembers this model, and has any information, please let me know.

It is a lot smaller and lighter, with black handle.

It is pre- pocket clip era pocket folder.

SERE Attack. I have one of the newer/less old ones, the swedge is ground differently.

AUS6 steel. Camo scabbard (hard case) has pocket for sharpening stone. She lock'um up like bank vault door. :)

yes, it sure is different handling old SS and brass liners compared to newer folders with all the lightweight stuff.
I figured a big folder like that would not be forgotten.
You are right about the sheath and stone. The sheath was worn during 3 years in a ranger bn and another 4 mountain and shows it. The stone is in 2 - 5 pieces and still in there. It was just too thin compared to some sheath stones.

the one I cannot find any information on is the Al Mar Elite 6105 model.
If anyone has any info, please let me know. It seems to be mid 80s, and looks like competion for buck lite and other lightweight folders coming out, but pre- pocket clip on everything era. (back when there was one brand of pocket tool, the leatherman, and one model in the little brown leather pouch.)

Nice knife. Is that one of those screw-on thumbstuds? I have a few nail nick knives I would love to turn into one-handed openers. Any idea what they are called or where to get them? Thanks.

They work well. I have one on a red Micarta handled Explorer folding boot knife. Much easier to open.

It has been well over ten years since I bought that screw on thumb stud for the sere attack. I do not recall where I got it. It was less than 10$. Holds up well to everything but prolonged chopping, which can work it lose.

the stud on the little al mar is factory.
