Does axis lock still work with one spring?

If one of the omega springs on an axis lock were to break, would the remaining spring keep the lock working correctly?

And, how would I know if one of the springs broke for some reason?

I would be nice if BM included an extra omega spring with each knife.

Thanks everyone!

The axis will work nearly normal with one spring, you may notice a tendency for one side of the axis lock to drag a bit. It's possible due to uneven pressure that the lock will jam up but it's highly unlikely.

Since Benchmade doesn't warrant knives that have been disassembled they don't give out omega springs (something about worry of copies).

If you look at the cut out that the thumbstuds for the lock itself slide in, you can see the thin round spring wire if it is stiff in a position the spring is fine, if it spins and slides around on the round pin, then it's broken.

Benchmade will let you send the knife back for warranty work at cost of shipping.
