Does bladeforums have online chat ?

Sure there is a Bladeforums.com chat room! It isn't an official chat room, but it is about as official as you can get without it being actually official! Hehe...

I believe the channel same is #BladeForums.com

Just download the latest version of mIrc, join a random NewNet server, and then type /join #BladeForums.com

We don't always chat about knives, and the room isn't Rated E for everyone! But it is one hell of a time, andlots of great times are shared there. Rob Simonich used to chat there some nights too! One night he had his daughter typing for him because he had dipped into the Guinness a bit much! Come to chat, say hello, enjoy your "welcoming", and stay for the fun. You'll learn tons too. I know I've asked Kit Carson a bazillion questions about knife making, and sometimes he even answers!

i've stepped into the bf chat from time to time, but noone is ever there :(

can you provide any details on the typical usage, and what time (i'm in iowa) would be best?

People usually start showing up around 9 PM EST and some folks stay until 1-2 AM. If you've tried and nobody is there during those times then you're in the wrong room. Follow Crayola's instructions and you'll find Chat.

Here is a list of Newnet servers:

http://www.newnet.net/serverlist.php

Here's a link to download mIRC:

http://download.com.com/3000-2150-10223634.html?tag=lst-0-1

Once connected you can change your nickname by typing:

/nick YOURNICKHERE

YOURNICKHERE being your nick name.

To join the chat room type:

/join #bladeforums.com

If you're having trouble connecting to the right server you can go to the status window and type:

/server irc.newnet.net

Or replace irc.newnet.net with any of the other servers listed at the URL I provided above. Doing this will disconnect you from your current server and connect you to the new one.

Hi Phil

Hi Wade :)

See ya bastids on chat!

Oh, a note to everyone, bring a trout...

cool, I didn't even know that this existed. I just downloaded the software and I'll probably try to check it out tonight.

Beluga,

it may be easiest to go by your handle, but your "real" name is fine too.

Yeah I'm Phil here and Phil there, pretty darn clever with these nicknames huh?

Oh a word of advice when you come in introduce yourself, we like to know who we're talking to. ;)

most of the time we're pretty good in chat... sparkles(kevin, towlie, choose a name) even shows up once in a while.

usually we have the bfc handles in there, but will refer to each other by real name. some, like me and veeg, have to shorten our names.
