Hello, I'm curious does BM still replace AXIS springs, hardware and blades on the 707's and 710's? Thanks guys

They should, a lot of stuff like springs and screws are common and fairly interchangeable. As far as I heard, they keep a stock of other parts from discontinued models so they can service them. With the 710 being discontinued a year ago, there's a good chance they have parts from that still.

That’s a good question.

What happens with Benchmade replacement parts on limited production models too? (ie.) M390 blade or scales on a 710-1401

About two years ago Benchmade serviced my 725S, a model that I don't think has even been made since before the turn of the millennium and wasn't all that popular even when it was in production. They replaced a missing backspacer and screw without so much as a murmur. So I'm sure they'll work on more recently discontinued models. You'll probably have the most luck with parts that are common across multiple knives -- I imagine if I'd needed a new scale I would have been out of luck (not that it's particularly easy to damage the scales on a 725 without demolishing the knife in the process :p).

Now, if you need blade replacement, that's a different kettle of fish. The only time I've ever requested one they weren't able to do it, although I don't really hold it against them for not having replacement blades for an 880 in 2014.

CWP is pretty much spot on here. We will usually be able to replace the common components such as springs, screws, clips etc. but older discontinued handles, blades, liners or special hardware are subject to availability.

Thank you. That’s good to know.

Would Benchmade ever upgrade a part if requested by the owner for a fee? (ie.) You own a 940 with a 154CM blade and would like to upgrade the steel to S90V?

No there not going to do that. That would be making you a custom knife and they wont do that. They will only replace with parts that have been used on that model before. They will replace your 154cm with an s30v though since they currently use that steel on the 940.

I just had a new blade for a 710 in d2 done back in January and they replaced screws and omega springs and clip as well. I just called before I sent it in to make sure they had the right blade in stock still.

I was hoping that BMK Jimmy would have replied with a “Sure, why not!”

Nope. Although you can upgrade your blade steel if your purchased the knife through the custom program on our website. There is an additional fee though. So if you buy a custom barrage in S30V and want to upgrade the steel to 20CV for example, that could be done.
