I've owned a lot of different Buck knives over the years and had to send one back for the first time last month. It was a new model 346RWS Vantage Avid. The blade was completely off center and came dirty. It rubbed against the liner when deployed. This knife also had the worst matching pair of rosewood scales I have ever seen. Someone must not have been looking that day because one side was almost bright orange and the other was a deep purple/red color.
So I contacted Buck Warranty and printed out a service form. Sent in my 346 in it's original box with a note. 4 weeks later it arrived and the replacement was perfect. Just one thing has really bothered me. I know this is not really a collectors knife or anything but I do keep all my boxes in case I ever decide to resell a knife. I sent it back the same way it arrived (knife in box) and expected it to be returned the same way. The knife was in bubble wrap with an invoice but no box. Should I just let it go? Or should I contact Buck and ask if they forgot to include it by mistake?
