Does Buck still own Remington Cutlery?

I'm a little slow, and usually late to the party, but I was digging through a box in the bottom of my closet for some trading fodder last night, and noticed the Remington Cutlery logo next to Buck's on the top of an invoice from 2018. I did a little internet searching and found that Buck bought Remington Cutlery around Jan 2017. Well, maybe not bought - maybe became the official licensee or some such arrangement - I'm an engineer, not a business guy. LOL!

Anyhow, I found some idle chatter/speculation in old posts online about whether Buck ever produced Remington knives in Post Falls, or if they were all outsourced, etc. Someone said Buck only produced the slipjoints with the bullet shield, and outsourced the rest.

Do any of you have the straight scoop? Does Buck still own/license Remington Cutlery? If there were/are Remington knives being made by Buck in Post Falls, I'd definitely like to know and add a couple to the collection. If so, how can you tell - certain models/years?

Thank you all,
Culprit99

I thought it was a collaboration between Buck and Remington.

H Happy Hippo created a spreadsheet with the models. I was only aware of the bullet knife series.

I did pick a few of them up when they were released. My favorite is the Elk barehead w/Sterling Bullet.

Beautiful knife! Thank you for the link - and thank you H Happy Hippo for putting that list together. Now I just need to keep my eyes open and try to pick up one or two. Why is it that every time I tell myself I'm done for a while, something else catches my eye?! LOL!

I am still looking for some but I do have almost every one. The one I am missing that I'd want the most is the R50014, silver bullet with elk handle. The other missing ones are R10001CM36, R10002CM36, R20005, R50028, R60010, R60011. I have 51 total unique models, missing the 7 listed.

Buck made knives under the Remington name in 2017 to 2020. Then I believe Bear and Son picked it up. Now I think someone else is selling them. SMKW still keeps the bullet series alive by commisioning a US manufacturer to release them every year.

Buck NEVER owned Remington Cutlery. Buck was a licensee for a few years (2017-2020).
I don't think Remington has made a knife themselves since 1933.
Other licensed makers were Camillus and Bear & Sons.
Here is a 2017 press release.

Bear & Son was the licensee BEFORE Buck.
Remington was broken up in a bankruptcy sale in 2020 ending Bucks association.
Roundhill Group purchased Remington’s firearm production facility and associated intellectual property for $13 million
and rebranded the operation as RemArms.

RemArms announced in January 2022 the "rebirth" of the cutlery line.
I could not find out thru a quick Google search who is currently manufacturing the cutlery for RemArms,
Is it Bear & Sons again as Happy Hippo suggests?

Yeah, I was just guessing because really I am only interested in the Buck-made ones.

I believe that you have this Remington Heritage R40000 3.15" drop point knife. What is your impression of it? There are less than a handful of reviews that I can find online. I realize it is 420J2 steel and made in China. I assume it was made to Buck’s standards though. Is it worth owning? My intended use would be a backup knife in case something happened to my 20 other backup knives. I think the wood looks good in the online photos. Does it look that good in real life?
