Does Buck Warranty their sheaths?

Hey Guys,
I have just a quick question. I got a Buck 110 the other day, and I love it! Can't say enough about how great it is, and I really can't believe I hadn't made the purchase sooner. My version came with a leather sheath, which I was really excited to try out. The leather and grommets seemed to be all of high qualityand everything was working out great. I put the knife in the sheath to try out the fit....which was perfect (as I expected of course), and when I brought it back out, I had a stick gluey goop all over the handle scales and the shiney bolsters. Me, being the ever dumb one, cleaned it off and put it back in again with similar results. I thought it was just a little residue left over from manufacture, but every single time I put it in it came back with more goop. I finally realized that there's a small felt circle covering the back of the metal snap so that it won't scratch the knife. The glue holding it in place has melted and is now in a position to get my knife all sticky with each pass. I've already emailed Buck about this, but because it's after hours and waiting is hard sometimes, I wanted to know if anyone here knew offhand if this would be a problem covered under warranty? It seems a little trivial, but it's really annoying to have this goop all over my blade. Overall though I really do enjoy the knife and can't wait to take it out with me tomorrow (sans sheath). Thanks Guys!

1 year warranty on sheaths. They will almost always err on the side of the customer.

This is the first time I've ever heard of this happening and I own lots of Buck sheaths. DM

I have several sheaths from 110s with a glue that smears up my knives - but only brown ones.

Huh....mine's the black sheath.

Did you all do anything to fix the problem, or do you just not use those sheaths? I wouldn't be opposed to just fixing it, rather than not using an otherwise perfectly good sheath.

Is there any way to clean off the residual glue ? I wouldn't think it would have that much glue on it, and if it easily comes off on the knife, it should be easy to clean it off the sheath. Just a thought

I've tried that several times with not much in the way of results. Since the glues is sticky underneath the felt as well, it allows the felt pad to lift up and expose more glue to the knife. I guess eventually the pad would come off or the glue would be exhausted from that area, but it seems to be pretty slow going

The glue doesn't fix the pad. If you use knife and sheath several times
you may find the pad on the bottom of the sheath. I didn't do anything
now. I am looking for lager pads and replace the old ones. The glue would
be wiped off with a solvent.

Pull the pad and clean with Goo-gone and replace with a cabinet pad. They work great for me. They are a little thicker than the original, It will tighten up the fit which might be a good thing.

The cabinet pad was my idea too but I didn't know the how it is called in English.

Update: Emailed Buck, they asked me to send it in. They did not say explicitly that they would replace the sheath, but I get the idea that that's probably what's gonna happen. So far so good. I'll update again when It's all resolved. Thanks for the suggestions.
