I didn't see anything when I did a search but if they don't make an EO, what would be an easy knife to open by Case?

They have made a few that I know of. Mostly back in the tested era.

I think the most recent were the slimline trappers? Don't know of any regular production ones though. The Russlock as well.

As far as knives that are easy to open, Clip points and sheepsfoot bladed knives usually have enough blade sticking out to grab hold of.

This might be just what I'm looking for. What's the pull like on the Case Sodbuster? Would it be tough to open for an elderly person?

CHESTNUT BONE TRAPPERLOCK CV

A Trapper with a thumbstud and no spring - not a pure traditional and you probably would not want to post pictures of it here as such - but - by far the easiest to open Case!;)

I would say the pull on a sodbuster is about a 6. The nail nick is towards the tip, which is nice from a leverage standpoint.

Interesting. Does it come in a stainless steel also? I want to get something maintenance free.

There are currently five Case Easy Open patterns in production, only available through one of their largest dealers as an SFO. Since that dealer is not a paying member here, I can't link you to them.

However, if you Google for "case ezopen" you will find the link to them.

The patterns being offered are:
Slimline Trapper
Sod Buster Jr
Mini Copperlock
Mini Trapper, single-blade Whancliffe
Trapper, single-blade normal clip point

They are all in Antique Bone (looks like a 'second cut' jigging pattern) and all in stainless steel.

Yes - the one I have is Sambar stag and Stainless. Since it is not quite a traditional, actually other than the thumb stud, it is absolutely traditional, but, if you need to know more, a PM would probably be more in order.
