Have coming , a Vision Superlock SNECX in Damascus blade .

Now having second thoughts about using it .

Even just box opening , tape cutting etc can leave some stubborn crud on a blade .

I believe both steels are supposed to be stainless ?

So , maybe more resistant to damaging the etching . Or not ?

Not a very expensive knife , but still .

Do a search here in the Forum: Civivi Damascus performance. (And yes, I know the word performance is not capitalized but that’s the way the discussion was titled.

A relatively thorough discussion on the subject a few years ago.

I've used my Damascus Civivi knives a decent amount and weirdly I haven't noticed that it picks up scratches really badly, but I mostly cut relatively clean cardboard with it at a previous job. Acceptable edge retention, extremely easy to hone back to razor sharp, and corrosion resistance at least on par with 9cr. I wouldn't take it swimming or anything, but so long as you aren't leaving it covered in something corrosive you shouldn't notice any notable issues with it.
