I noticed that the new Special Projects doesn't have the Delta dart or CAT in it do they still sell these knives?

Just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get me.

I think they are still selling them, but I read somewhere that the CAT Tanto wouldn't hold any edge whatsoever. Consider the NRG from Newt Livesay if you are willing to spend about 20 bucks (still a lot cheaper than a Mad Dog).

"I am not, really."

They've been discontinued. I have a CAT Tanto. It's crap. You can stab with it, but it would be tough to break the skin with a slash. You might just as well carry a nice sharp pencil.

Really, I thought it might be hard to get or keep an ede on the CAT but I didn't think it was that bad. Anyone have any experience with a Livesay NRG?

The CS CAT was pretty bad. The CS Delta Dart was a pretty good stabber because the design was good. The couple of inexpensive Zytel and carbon fiber knives that I've handled are pretty bad. G10 is supposed to make a more decent synth blade than either of the above materials. Ceramic blades are nice, but hard to take care of.

Thanks to the new laws in the Peoples Republik of Kalifornia, plastic, zytel, Carbon Fiber and other non-metallic knives "designed to go through a metal detector" are verboten. Guess those picnic ones are deadly as well....

Anyhow, Cold Steel has discontinued their Delta Dart and CAT Tanto knives, Mission discontinued their CT line, and a few other companies are stopping production of their knives as well.

Wait 'till "they" find out, that only people are dangerous.
Then people will be outlawed...
Happy sharpening
