I got a a cold steel paradox sometime in the spring. the 24P.

it looked good, felt sturdy, and it felt safe like a fixed blade, just more portable. (I have had a lockback fail on me and snap over my fingers, so I'm a bit scared of folder.)

there was just one problem, the damn edge of the blade collided into the handle in two places when folded together. the knife snaps shut when being closed, so you'd have to carefully guide it closed, and not letting it be pressed together when closed. the part it collided with was the spring that forced you to open it with two hands. I hope you understand what I'm talking about.

the knife was a bit to expensive for me to ignore that. I sent it back to the seller, no problem there.

I think the paradox looks cool, and safe, but I'm not getting another one if they all do damage to the blade when closed.

so, do all cold steel paradox knives damage the blade? how about the new bigger one?

I emailed cold steel about this, but never got a reply.

You have a 1 year warranty, call them up and ask your questions. It is easy to forget about emails, hard to do so when talking to a live person.

Cold Steel customer service is only helpful over the phone; you may have to call several times before you can talk to someone knowledgeable/helpful. The Paradox has been problematic. The CS website warns users to not snap the blade shut, for fear of edge damage. To bad...cool knife. Best of luck.

Also, CS customer service will arrange a UPS pick up for defective/problematic merchandise. In the future, you can save the return shipping fee if you call first and talk to the right person.

I don't live in the US, so it'd be useless, and most likely expensive to call them.

but is the new and bigger one any better?
