Well, I've finally sold a Busse for the first time.

I got two ASH-1 LE's so that I could get my HOGAsh, with the intention of selling one of the LE's on.

Trouble is, I like them so much! Even though I don't do safe queens, knowing that extra ASH-1 was in my knife drawer was just so comforting.

But, needs must (car repairs again) and I finally had to make the decision to move it on.

It's so hard to part with though. All throughout the sale negotiations I'm thinking, 'I can pull out any time... and just keep it. Mount it up on the wall or something, keep it for a spare.' I really needed the cash though.

So the transfer is on the way to my bank now, and I have to pack up the ASH-1 for it's journey to Germany. It's a really emotional time for me :(

Does everyone feel this way when they part with a Busse for the first time?

Goodbye ASH-1 - it was nice while it lasted. I'll take good care of your sister and love her regularly  I'm sure your new owner will take care of you and feed you well - if not, you know where to find me...

I hear the theme of taps while I'm taping up the priority boxes before hitting the PO in the morning, but then again I'm a little off. Part of the Busse experience is family. I think the way we are treated here on the forum and by Jerry and other employes spoils us a little. We are treated like family and teach each other to reach other members in kind. That being said it is only natural to feel that we are shipping a relative off to boarding school or something. It sucks but you know when you see pics of your missing family member taking down a limb or showcasing a home you feel proud and good. Just my take but what do I know. Of course the guilty pleasure of filling the void of the missing family members is lurking at every next Busse offering (I won't even disgrace this thread with another "beating a step"- Oh, well you know). It's like the Brady Bunch. Sure the Brady's had their problems. The dad couldn't hit it home (as if the perm didn't give that away) and the kids were "special", but damn it they moved forward and added on!

Well, if it's any consolation, it feels even worse when you give one away for free, even if it is to a friend.

Breaking up is hard to do....

Think of it as sharing/spreading a little of the joy. Have a drink.

Parting is never easy but....I believe your LE is going to a good home in Germany!! If I'm correct she'll have two stepsisters awaiting her arrival there.
And Juergen is one of the good guys:thumbup:

There have been a couple I've sold and was wishing I hadn't before I even shipped them off.

It's not easy, but we do what we have to at times.

Yeah - I believe you're right on that! I know she's going to a good home.

Have no fear giving one up. Something new and exciting will show up at the store before you know it. You'll bite on the new and you'll forget any regrets about the old!

What? Regrets? Me?

HellFreakingNo!

But do I know what it's like to part with a Busse? Hmmmmmmmmmmm, let me think:

Solstice, What are those two models without any handles, with the nekid dimpled finish, with no handle holes drilled?

The only (my understanding) 2 Proto Mean Streets made. Not to be confused with the Proto Meaner Streets that Mikey has. Bastid has all 3 too!:grumpy:

Both of these were hollow ground, 5/16" thick, with a fat wicked swedge and the kicker......both were made from INFI!

Had em both at one time, I know where one of them is and you'd never recognize it now. LOL, not after Weiland got done with it.:D I have no clue where the double cut one landed. I imagine someone out in the family has it.

I wish you still had it! I've been looking for it. I want it for another custom project.

Here's the other that I was fortunate to snag in a trade after it's "makeover"...

After Reese Weiland got his talented hands on it.:
