Does having the edge near the tip dull bother you?

The most used part of my knife is the first 1/8 inch near the tip, mostly from plunge-cutting cardboard, so it is always visibly rounded off and sharpening it is a real hassle. Here is a pic, am I just being picky? It does not really affect cutting, I just have to push slightly harder in order to cut through the cardboard or whatever material

I let it go like that for a while, then sharpen the whole edge. All the way to the tip. It doesn't bother me much in between. I just make sure I get the tip good and pokey when I sharpen em up.

A ceramic rod and a strop will resolve that until it's time to sharpen the knife. That's what I do on a regular basis on my knives.

It bothers me if I can see light reflected from the edge. I'll just buff the edge with 2000 grit sand paper and strop with a plain leather strop and it's back to shaving hair.
