Searched a little and didnt find a good answer. I dont mean if it will throw sparks with a ferro rod, what I mean is if you hit the spine (has to be uncoated and ground at a 90 degree angle, so non NM) with a hard rock like chert, will it throw sparks much like a flint and steel set?

I don't mean with a ferro rod, but with a hard rock like chert or quartz. If you've used a flint and steel set before (not a ferro rod) then it's the exact same concept. The rock scrapes off a piece of molten carbon steel, and you use that to spark your tinder, and blow it into flame
Here is a video that shows what im talking about, skip to about 20:00

For what it's worth, my waki threw sparks when I accidentally hit a nail buried in a stump, and also when I have accidentally hit a rock with it. So confirmed SR101 will, don't know about infi.

Ya 52100 has a lot of carbon in it, for some reason I cant find the carbon content of INFI on google though

INFI is proprietary to BUSSE. So the only info will be from Busse. I'm sure you already knew this :)

V .36% Vanadium
Cr 8.25% Chrome
Fe 87.79% Iron
Co .95% Cobalt
Ni .74% Nickel
Mo 1.3% Molybdenum
C .5% carbon
N .11% Nitrogen

No reason why it should not throw sparks when struck properly by sharp natural flint and similar rocks.

Great thanks.
So it has about as much carbon as 1055, it'll throw some sparks but not really enough carbon to get some good ones.
