Latley i have been spending more and more on knives, from fancier semi-production William Henry's, Busse to Custom knives. 3 of which I have in progress right now. I noticed that after my first sebbie, and then my first real custom I have had a hard time NOT spending more money to get what seems to be a better product. I have not broken the 1000 dollar barrier yet and I dont know if I could (.50 cal Barret is next on list). My question is......will it end? Do you top out in how much you spend or do your eyes eventually drift back from customs or semi-customs to production? it seems I see production knives and I thinks "I could have 1 custom if I didnt buy 1 production each month for 3 months". This question is really directed at people who might have/be having this problem if you can call it that, or to those who have "gotten over" it.

Oh and this doesnt mean I snub productions, I love my Mili, my endura, bench 942, and all my other spydies, benches and productions. I just cant seem to justify spending 1-200 on a production when if I wait I can buy a custom. does that sound right?

It sure as heck hasn't for me. There was a time i would have laughed at the thought of spending over $1000.00 on a knife. I have now spent almost $2000.00 on a couple of knives and will be getting a knife from Jerry Fisk that will be over $3000.00.

I guess what I am saying is that for me, I don't think it will end until they shovel the dirt over my coffin.

I started making knives to quench my inability to afford custom knives. So for me, it never ends.... Its the next best thing to having the money to afford other makers' knives, haha!

Same boat - and it's sinking. Selling current stock for customs.

No, it never ends!! Once your are into customs, well, just forget about any hope of it ever ending!! I am in the same boat as the rest of you!! I don't snub productions either,as I LOVE my Spyderco's and I recently purchased a RSK Mini-grip that I LOVE. Yes, I totally understand not wanting to spend $200 on a production, when in my mind, that could go towards a custom!! Yup, sounds right to me!! At least on THIS sinking boat, we are in good company!!
