A compact single battery sub 20$ 100L+ single mode flashlight ?
I'm currently using a cheap 10$ quarrow 50L 1AA flashlight ( it came with one of those crappy little oval shaped key chain multitools ) and I'm sure that I can get a brighter one of the same size or smaller.
I don't care weather it's twist or button activated, as long as its single mode.

Coast HX5 can be had for about $20. Coast has good quality in my experience. I've got a Coast LED flashlight I've used almost daily for the past seven or eight years. Rut roh - I just realized the HX5 has two modes: high and low.

There are lots more in this price range that are more than 100 lumens.

the coast hx5 is a great little light. mine is a single mode. lifetime warranty. focusing beam is a nice feature.

mine quit working after ~6 months, but it's covered under warranty.

I've had 15-10 small EDC lights, my top pick right now would be a Lumintop Tool AAA.
110 Lumens, Ultra small, compact and weighs nothing. Really nice reversible clip, tail button switch.

Reliable, durable, waterproof and slim profile.
Can't get better than that for $20!

I have several Ozark Trails, Walmart, flashlights that range from 200 to 250 lumens but they take 2 AA batteries. Aluminum cases with o-rings make them look waterproof but I am not going to test them intentionally. They have a tail button switch and they are on/off, no modes. So far they have proved to be pretty sturdy and now they sell for about $15. I recently bought a LED mini MagLight that takes 2 AA batteries but it came with a small version that takes 1 AAA. I think the little one has an output of 50-75 lumens. The head twists to turn on and off just like its big brothers.

For someone who doesn't mind 3 modes 85L and single aaa the fenix eo5 is tough to beat especially for its size.
