I am asking does it matter where dry lube goes, for example if i apply the the dry lube, does it matter if it gets over the bearings and the moving parts of a folder knife? I have Tuff glide dry lube right now but might just get nano lube since i read that's better. Can i just use compressed air can to clean the knife to instead of a air compressor or does the can not have enough psi. If i do use an air compressor whats the recommended psi? Should i have the compressor gun a couple inches away from the moving parts?

Hi SethO, good questions. Are you using the Sentry Solutions Marine Tuf Glide? They make a few products. I use the Marine stuff. It's a liquid and I put it in the bearings/blade joint. It drys to a dry waxy film. It does not attract dust or dirt. I blow it out with lung pressure alone so you could use canned air or a compressor to if you like.

I have read a lot about nano oil and the German clock makers are switching to it. The tests are amazing. Since it is a liquid I've stayed away for use in blade joints and the lock mechanisms. In enclosed locks, it may be a better lubricant. I use the Tuf glide as a rust preventer to. Let us know how things go, keep in touch.

Sorry i never replied i been busy but i used compressed air and regular tuff glide on 2 of my blades and it works pretty well. I also use EDCi on my blades. I ordered some nano lube concentrate 10 weight, so i will experiment with that to. Seems like dry lubes will be best for open bearing systems.
