Does my AFCK need servicing?

Hi all,
Well I've been enjoying my M2 AFCK for a couple of weeks now and wondering if I'm noticing some of the QC issues that I've heard mentioned. Don't get me wrong, it rocks my world, but I'm noticing a few things.

1) The liner lock isn't centered on the heel of the blade, it's about 3/4 of the way in... still looks plenty sturdy, but am worried about any eventual wear on the stop pin making it worse.

2) I'm getting the problem with the blade losing it's centering in the liners and a little scuff occuring when I deploy the blade. I can alleviate this with the "push it the wrong way when open" trick but it eventually works its way off center again. Wondering if there's a washer issue or if the pivot needs o be tightened?

3) The blade did not really impress me with its sharpness out of the box. It was sharp, but not scary sharp by any streatch of the imagination (didn't shave arm hairs, could press thumb against blade with some force without initiating a cut). It still handled most of what I threw at it fine, just not the mind-blowing experience I was expecting from my first >$50 tactical folder. If I send it in for BM sharpening, can I expect an improvement in this, or is this the "factory edge" and I need to get it sharpened by a third party or buy a sharpmaker?

Anyway, just wondering if any of these little glitches warrants repair or servicing under the BM warranty or if they're just idiosyncracies of the knife. Sorry for the verbose post.

Thanks,
Clark

I have had my M-2 AFCK for a few years and normally use it as my every day pocket knife.

I gets used to cut paper, cardboard, wood, meat, vegitation and game animals. The hardest material that it has cut is wood or plastic.

When new it had to go back to the factory because the grind lines were off, the blade rubbed on the clip side and I believe the liner lock wasn't right. They replaced the blade w/o cost. It still rubbs and I bend it back.

I sharpen the blade with a tri sharpener (trangle crock sticks) and it does take an incredably sharp edge, sharper than ATS 34. I think that it holds an edge a little better also.

After several years of daily use the liner lock is still in the middle of the blade, it locks up tight and performs O.K. I noticed that the blade has developed two flat spots from what I don't know.

I would not buy another B.M. because I think that they ask too much for them considering they're spotty Q.C. I really like (for the money) Columbia River, Outdoor Edge and Cold Steel knives as work knives.

For pocket carry I might start using my Microtech Mini-Socom.

I would send it back.
