Dull my blade? I heard something recently that the factory sheath dulls the blade every time you sheath/unsheath the knife.
What the heck yo?

Hey, the snark comes from my American side! You Germans sure have a lot of snark in you, that's fo' sho'![]()
How much are they? Some do. Its a result of over engineering. The sheaths are glass filled nylon, which I'm guessing was done that way to make them hard use. Bomb proof, just like the knife. But since the material is so hard , it dulls the edge. Take a small file or finger nail board thing and run it in and out of the sheath a bunch of times to give the edge some clearance. No more dulling. Or you can just run the knife in and out and let it wear its own clearance, then just resharpen. Easy peasy
Edit to add: only way to tell if yours does it is sharpen the knife and sheath it. Is it duller? Then yes. Kabar has since fixed the problem and if you call them they will probably send you a non glass version.
I wrapped some 220 around a nail file and sanded the hell out of the first couple of inches. It worked. Moose's pics show why it did.
No clue but call and ask. I've heard that they are very very nice about it tho....How much are they?
