Does RIT Dye Ti?

I recently removed and dyed my G10 olive drab Hinderer Dauntless scale charcoal/black and it came out great. I have a Fellhoelter Dauntless with a G10 olive drab inlay that I want to dye, but I can’t remove it from the titanium scale because it’s glued in.

If I dye the entire scale, will the titanium get dyed or stained? I’ve read it won’t but would like to hear from those that have tried.

The dye would probably stain the very surface of the titanium and then rub off and look splotchy. Trying to think of an impermeable but removable barrier you could put on it that would withstand the dying process, but it might be easier just to boil it first so the scale comes off.
