I have been impressed with their knives and would like to see their site, if any. I can't find it on the web.

I believe they are a subset of United Cutlery: A chinese knife making company that produces very good paper weights.

You can do better.......http://www.newgraham.com/ :)

I am sure you can do better but only by spending a good deal more money. For the price the Rough Rider knives are an outstanding value. I have about a dozen of their slipjoint knives and the quality on most are on par with most non-custom slipjoints being offered today. And while United Cutlery has absorbed several companies I don't believe they own RR.

btw...I notice the company you suggested "you could do better" at also sells Rough Rider knives....mmmmmm....and at a higher price in some cases than say Smokey Mountain...lol.

I can think of a few knife companys whose products qualify as paperweights, but Roughrider isn't one of them. Good bang for the buck.

I don't know this for a fact but I was under the impression the brand was owned by Smokey Mountain Knife Works and is manufactured under contract by them in China

IIRC, the Rough Rider brand was created by Kevin Pipes (Smoky Mountain Knife Works) to make some of the older patterns available that weren't around any more. Since they first came out, the brand has added a ton of new designs, patterns, etc. Most of the ones I've bought have had pretty good fit & finish, and the blades held their edges pretty well, too. For the price point, they can't be beat.

The only other place that sells them is Waxman Knifeworks.

The best RR website is eBay.
You can get them for as low as $6.51 delivered though the last one I got this month was $11.51 delivered.

RR makes slippies for several known knife companies, Marbles being one of them. If you didn't know it was a RR, you wouldn't believe it was a China-made knife.
