Does Spyderco sharpen serrations?

I inflicted a bit of minor damage on the serrations on a Wayne Goddard Lightweight. During an emergency extraction from a vehicle, I had to cut through a thick bundle of wires. The serrations dug in and I sliced right through, with some really nice sparks going off as I shorted the hot wires. Will Spyderco sharpen the serrations or just the PE?

Just send it in to warrenty with a note explaining it, and a check for 10usd. Dr Mike will fix your baby right up.

Actuallly I think Spyderco is 1 of the very few manufacturers that DO sharpen the serrations for you.
I traded for a old style AFCK in M-2 and the serrations were badly mangled I contacted B/M and found out they didn't sharpen that part of their blades, I was told it was impossible because they are cut on a wheel and it would ruin the blade to attempt it:rolleyes: , anyway I cut them again myself using a carbide cutter in my mill, I made em look like a Spydie edge, which IMO is better anyway. Yup, they'll fix it. I don't know any other company that fix serrations so far.

Eric,
If you go over to spyderco.com they are publishing stories of their knives in Action. I believe that if they use your story you get a complementary knife :) But you should definitely contact mike at W&R either way.

Did you dull the blade or actually melt it? My friend cut through a hot wire while replacing a ceiling fan and melted a portion of his Kershaw Scallion. If so, I don't know if it could be easily repaired.

Well, there were some burn marks on the blade. They easily polished off with some MAAS polish. The knife is still usable, but the serrations are dulled to a point that I don't think the Sharpmaker will fix it.

I sent it off to Spyderco to have them take a look. Turn around time was just over a month. The knife came back looking just about new and the blade is now back to being razor sharp, including the serrations. The lock was not engaging quite right and that was taken care of as well. Thanks to the great folks at Spyderco.

BTW, I sure like the Wayne Goddard Lightweight. It is a full size folder that carries like a smaller knife. About the only thing that could make it better would be VG10 steel instead of the ATS-55.
